Welcome to the home of the Collingwood Dragon Boat & Canoe Club.
Our Mission: The CDBCC is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to establishing, developing and supporting recreational and competitive paddling sports in the Collingwood area. The CDBCC is committed to providing access to dragon boating, sprint canoeing and kayaking and recreational paddling to its members in a safe and controlled environment and to developing youth and adult programs for all levels of paddlers. The CDBCC is a member of Canoe Kayak Canada (CKC), the national sport organization for paddling competitive sports in Canada, and the Ontario Canoe Sprint Racing Affiliation ("OCSRA"), a division of Canoe Ontario. Formed in 2004, the club encourages paddlers of all ages to take part in a variety of programs, including the Sidelaunchers competitive team, recreational paddling, and youth programming. Along with dragon boats - including a BUK generously donated to the Town of Collingwood in 2003 - the club also features a number of flatwater boats, including C-1, C-2, and C-4 sprint canoes, K-1 and K-2 sprint kayaks, and the jewel of the club's fleet, an 80-year-old restored war canoe (C-15). The club's compound is located south of the historic Collingwood Grain Terminals. |
