PADDLE CAMP

The Collingwood Dragon Boat and Canoe Club is a member of the True Sport movement and believes in teaching respect, honesty, fair play, discipline, commitment and effort through sport.

PADDLE CAMP
All paddle camp activities will take place from the Collingwood Dragon Boat and Canoe Club boathouse (Watts Boathouse), located on Heritage Drive (Collingwood Spit) in front of the grain terminals.

No previous paddling experience is necessary but every participant must be a competent swimmer. Participants will:

  • Learn how to safely paddle a recreational canoe and kayak.
  • Be introduced to sprint canoeing, kayaking, dragon boat and war canoe racing.
  • Swim and be in the water - a lot!
  • Play various on-water games to enhance paddling skills.
  • Paddle to different municipal parks and play-fields.
  • Participate in a fun regatta on Friday.
  • Meet other kids and have lots of fun!
  • Visit the Collingwood Museum and learn about the local marine heritage.

This year, a RACE-READY week will be held prior to the CDBCC-hosted, WOD regatta event on July 10, 2010.

FEES:
This year's paddle camp fees are $225 for a week, plus a one-time annual membership fee of $35. Click here to download the 2010 registration form (Word document)
